Events

Each year, Dragon Con assembles many of its willing guests for scheduled autographs (signings) in one area. Not every guest is willing – or able – to sign items, but we do inquire as to each guest’s willingness to do so.

Some guests, usually screen media guests, charge for autographs in our Walk of Fame, but autographs staged in our Autograph Area are always free. Limitations on number and type of items may be made, generally at the request of the signer, and sometimes due to time considerations.

Autographs will be handled on a first-come, first-signed basis. We will promote equal access for handicapped persons but this does not exclude them from the first-come, first-served rule; as with other convention attendees, they will get their autograph in order of their arrival.

It’s baaaccccck!  Channel your inner fantasy and join us for the return of Dragon Con Night at Georgia Aquarium.  Here, you can experience exclusive after-hours views of the Aquarium galleries, with ambient music and food and drinks available for purchase with a General Admission ticket. To take your experience to the next level, consider the VIP experience which includes food and open bar located in a private ballroom with upgraded décor. Don’t miss this mystical and magical experience as you journey through 11 million gallons of wondrous water. We can’t wait to see your creativity in all things Dragon Con on this special night.

• Guests have the option to buy General Admission or VIP Admission.
• Dragon Con badge lanyards are not accepted for admission.
• Dragon Con has a clear no weapons policy that will be enforced. Click here for rules.
• Food court open from 7:00pm-9:00pm
• Cash bars open from 7:00pm-10:00pm
• There will be tight security scanning and bag checks for all guests
• No gum – no lighters – no pocketknives
• No changing room or bag storage available

Shuttle departs from back of Marriott Marquis on Courtland Street at 6pm.

Join Dragon Con’s very own puppet ambassadors, Bob and Carl: The Sci-Fi Janitors, as they present a variety show of adult geeky puppet acts from the Guests and Pros of the Puppetry Track! 2019’s audience of nearly 900 made it one of the biggest puppet slams of all time! The Palmetto Knights is a nonprofit international sports team based out of South Carolina with various clubs in the southeast. This medieval fight team, which includes both men and women, focuses on the research and training to recreate the ancient art of Medieval and Renaissance foot combat. The highlight of the con is the Dragon’s Cup Tournament. Participants include other reenactment organizations, who also fight and compete across the USA and internationally. They will bring their real-world insight into the equipment so they can truly discuss and educate on how effective they were on the battlefield. Each year, we present an entertainment unlike no other as we draw from history to conduct an unchoreographed combat experience leveraging our expertise in battle effectiveness of tactics and weaponry.

Offering readings by authors from their own works (and usually some discussion with the audience afterward), our past readers have included T.W. Miller, Janny Wurtz, Kevin J. Anderson, Jana Oliver, Karen McCollough, Tracy Hickman, Laura Curtis, and Caitlin Kiernan. Check the schedule closer to the convention for the latest on who will be reading for you this year!

Dragon Con features two video rooms: one devoted to mainstream movies and the other for Japanese Animation.

Join us as Explorers through our imaginations as we trip through the decades. Feel like Flash Gordon as you rocket to see a Battle Beyond the Stars.  Thrill as we fight Ice Pirates and killer robots as we trip through the Black Hole.  Enjoy some Soylent Green in a FutureWorld as you exchange stories with The Last Starfighter on The Planet of the Apes.

If space is not your thing, engage with Wizards as they duel over the fate of The Black Caldron. Meet Arthur and try to pull Excalibur from the stone and battle The Sword and the Sorcerer to protect The Dark Crystal, and to become the DragonSlayer.

Round out your adventure by joining Time Bandits along with Doctor Who and the Daleks, on a trip through history with A Boy and His Dog, meeting The Omega Man as he tries to save Earth.

These and many other cult favorites are waiting inside, so bring your popcorn and candy and enjoy the show!

ANIME VIDEO
The world used to be split in two – you had cartoons and you had anime.  Times have changed and now we have a rich mix of Anime, traditional cartoons, digital animation, and mixed media animation.  You’ll still find all of your anime favorites and new exciting animation in our repertoire!.

Come hang out and see what we have playing.  The Anime Video Room tends to fill up quickly, so get to your showing early.  Oh, you want to know about Subs and Dubs – we’ll have both on hand – so don’t worry.  We’ll see you there!
